Abamun of Tarnut was born in the 4th century in Tarnut Egypt, he died in the year 372 in Alexandria, Egypt. Abamun
went to Upper Egypt and witnessed the persecution of Christians there. He presented himself to the governor of Ansena and announced that he was a Christian. Arianus, the governor, had him tortured by blows,
nails in the body, iron combs, and hanging him. In the end, his limbs were cut off and then beheaded.
Abamun inspired many other Christians to accept martyrdom including a young girl named Theophila. Theophila criticized the governor of Asena, Arianus, primarily for his practice of idolatry. She was cast into a fire, the fire did no harm to her so she was beheaded. There are no photos available for either Abamun or Theophila.
